Point Leader Café
Ministry leaders like you need insight, ideas, resources and wisdom for leading group life in the church. But your time is precious and you cannot wait until the next conference or ministry gathering to get what you need. You need strategic information, training you can put to work immediately, and relationships with other point leaders and group ministry experts. The Café is designed for these purposes.
The Café will feature video clips and a communication piece called, “To the Point” for all of you who need timely information about trends and issues.
Point Leader Videos
The Café will provide short, strategic, leadership-focused video clips that address specific ministry needs. These videos will be crisp and focused, 7-8 minutes of content designed to give you information and ideas you can use today to build the ministry. Topics will address five major areas of ministry:
- Philosophy and Theology of Community —how to teach the vision and values of community life, position Group Life in the context of the church, and align ministries to the church-wide vision and values
- Leadership & Structure —meeting point leader challenges, ministry strategy, self-leadership, ministry structure, and group leader support systems and coaching
- Group Life —identifying, recruiting and developing effective group leaders, apprenticing and shared leadership strategies, group dynamics, and assessing group health
- Connection Strategies —designing simple, clear pathways to group involvement, developing various kinds of groups, using church-wide connection approaches, the roles of open and closed groups, and offering a wide range of relational gatherings
- Change —understanding the dynamics of change, leadership roles and responsibilities, vision casting, problem-casting, gaining church buy-in, overcoming obstacles, gauging the pace of change and sustaining the change process
“To the Point”
This resource will provide short commentary and up to date communication on key issues and trends concerning biblical community, group life and leadership development.

The Café will also provide the opportunity to connect with others who share your ministry passion and leadership responsibilities. You are not alone in this effort and we want to provide the opportunity for you to connect with strategic leaders in the Group Life arena.
